Haley's Haven

Let's just say the only thing that really got their attention was when Mr. Matt, dressed up like Paul (on the way to Damascus) said loudly, "I DON'T LIKE JESUS!!" This was of course before he saw the great light from heaven and was converted...but try explaining that to 16 horrified kids. Ha ha.

Ana is a little concerned about Haley's new favorite past time. She climbs in circles around Ana, never touching her except for an occasional brush of the knee to the head or leg - I am continually surprised at how sweet and gentle Haley is with her - I don't think that is typical of most toddlers. But today Matt was singing to Ana one of the songs that he normally sings to just Haley, and she did NOT like that - she got a very fierce face, with eyebrows down, and stormed into the living room from her room to where this traitorous singing was going on, and said "NO, NO!! No WAY!!"

Well, for those of you who didn't know...Matt and I are now the official Sunday School teachers for the 11 AM 3-year olds at our church - www.foxriverchristian.org Isn't that hilarious? We teach our first lesson this morning - we will let you know how it goes! Until then, just imagine and laugh :)

Well, we went to the doctor yesterday - Ana was a champ and hardly cried for her three shots! I probably had a harder time than she did. Anyway, as we all suspected....she is off the charts in both height and weight! Weight is quite a bit over 100 percentile they said, and height is a little over... Weight: 15.7 lbs Length: 25 1/4 inches Head Circumference: 42 cm (she apparently is not showing the extensive head size that Haley had/has) (That was for Anne) Isn't she such a funny little cutie precious chunky elf-girl!?

Ana isn't slumped and little teeny baby-like in the high chair shot - she was trying to get out by throwing her head toward the side - HA.

The girls and I went for our WIC appointment today, and I had no idea how much it was going to entail - I am glad I brought a bottle for Ana, b/c we got there at 1:20 and didn't leave until 3 - that is a long time to deal with Haley and Ana, just so you know. Haley had to get the finger stick for a lead check - that wasn't pretty. Anyway, we celebrated tonight by going to the GROCERY!!! YAY!!! With formula we spent 120 bucks and only paid for 23 dollars of it - very nice. We get all kinds of stuff so it is really going to help. It was funny b/c I didn't know how the WIC checks worked and all, so they rang up ALL my groceries and then I gave them the vouchers, and they told me they had to do four separate "ring-ups", one for each different check and then one for my stuff that I was paying for - it is hard to explain but suffice it to say that they had to take EVERYTHING out of the bags - anyway, when I realized my error, I turned to the lady behind me in line...

Matt is gone on a camping trip - so here is my view every time I set foot into the kitchen. If only there were a sound byte to go with this - it would be something like this - "MAAAMAAAA!!! WAAAAA!!!! MAAAAAMAAAA!!! WAAAAAAA!!!!" (alternating girl voices)

Here are some hotel shots - this is the only time I got the camera out - how cute, eh? Oh, be sure everyone to read my sister in law's blog - hilarious.

It was great to see the chicks! It makes me want to pack them up and move them to Wisconsin, but something tells me they wouldn't care too much for that...:)

Haley had fun with Aunt Patsy and Grandma Shirley this past weekend.

As you can see, our favorite place to be in the summer evenings is the beach!
